Miss The Old You After Pregnancy? Here Are A Few Tricks

Pregnancy is probably the only period in your life where you’ll constantly see your body changing.

Even though having a baby is beautiful, many mothers often feel concerned about their post-pregnancy bodies.

Bloated stomachs, stretch marks, and hair loss are some of the many things that can cause any woman to feel insecure and embarrassed about her body.

Around 1 in 7, women experience postpartum depression. So if you want to get back in shape after conceiving your bundle of joy, here are some useful tips!

1. Take walks

If you’re not confident about starting right away with heavy exercises or feel tired to the bone, then going for short walks can be therapeutic for your body and mind.

You can either take a 30-minute walk right in the morning or in the evening. But don’t be shy to consult with your gynecologist first.

Short, brisk-paced walks can burn a lot of calories and make you feel more confident about yourself.

Every week, increase the number of steps by 10%, and you’ll soon see a lot of difference already starting to show.

2. Allow yourself to rest

While it’s important to exercise and keep fit, you should also remember that your body will go through many different phases for over nine months.

Moreover, you must also be mentally exhausted while trying to get your life back on track.

Focus on taking out some time to interact with the little one. Much of your time will be dedicated to ensuring your baby is healthy.

But other than this, you should also give yourself some time to recuperate. Otherwise, your body won’t get back in shape quickly.

3. Breastfeed properly

Mothers who breastfeed their babies daily burn a lot of calories, although it requires them to intake more calories too.

But even then, breastfeeding is said to be beneficial for the baby and the mother.

However, if you’re unable to produce enough milk, then there are always ways to cure that with the right snacks and healthy drinks. One of today’s healthiest popular alternatives for mothers unable to breastfeed is the organic baby formula which is gaining more popularity among parents.

For example, check out this website https://inshapemummy.com/ as they produce specialized food items for breastfeeding mothers to help produce more milk and aid in losing weight.

4. Perform kegel exercises

Kegel exercises are one of the best to get back in shape. They help increase blood supply to the perineum or pelvic cavity and speed up the recovery process.

Start by exhaling and then drawing in your belly. This way, your abdominal muscles will move and you will burn a lot of calories. Next, repeat each exercise ten times and do three sets per day.

They have also been known to facilitate bowel and urine movements. However, before starting with Kegels, ensure your bladder is empty.

5. Eat mindfully

Along with proper exercise, ensuring your diet is also going well is necessary. For example, during pregnancy, you might have eaten quite a lot of different kinds of food all together at once.

But after your baby is born, it’s time to introduce a bit of routine into your diet. Eat smaller, balanced meals spread evenly throughout the day and include lots of protein in your diet.

Consume healthy fats like nuts and fish. Additionally, never underestimate the importance of breakfast because that meal will determine your mood and body for the remaining portion of the day.

6. Do small cardio sessions

Cardio sessions are also a great way to bring back your pre-pregnancy body. Not only is it good for busy moms, but it also burns baby fat very quickly.

For starters, do some squats and shoulder raises with your triceps extended. Daily cardio sessions challenge your body’s stature, especially after you have delivered the baby.

You can even spice up this routine by introducing hill intervals and short bursts of high-intensity exercises.

Work on your glutes, hamstrings, and quadriceps. After finishing the cardio session, cool down with some light walking or jogging.

Conclusion

These are a few basic ways that will help you to regain your body after pregnancy or delivery.

But you must also remember that bloating and gaining weight are all natural processes during childbirth.

Your body is beautiful even with the changes going on, and you should be proud of that!
