Environmental designers are needed to help with planning projects such as roads, recreation areas, housing developments, water supply systems and utility lines within these vast areas of land. These professionals may work on team assignments or work independently to produce drawings that planners will use to guide future development on BLM property.

3D Environmental Designers work in video gaming, educational training and simulation, industrial design, visual arts, motion pictures, multimedia production, virtual reality, and more. Private companies, public agencies and research institutions employ them.
